The Present Simple is the most basic and common tense in the English language.
We use it for:
Ø Facts and generalization.
Ø Habits and routines.
Ø Permanent situations.
Ø State verbs (e.g. be, have, think, know).
Ø Fixed / official arrangement that we can't change.
Ø Narrations (e.g. telling a story or a joke).
