I Watch a video. Pay attention how the characters answer the questions in Past Simple. Then, do Worksheet 1.

Let me introduce the characters of the video you are going to watch.
They are Monica, Molly, Willy and Dan.
1. Watch a video and write who the following events happened to. Write the names.
II Read the text “My Weekend Trip to Docklands” and do the following activities (Worksheet 2)
a). Answer open-ended questions;
b). Practice writing regular and irregular verbs from the text;
c). Do matching exercise;
d). Practice word order in Past Simple positive statements.
III Practice using the past form of regular and irregular verbs. Do the following exercises:

IV Write how you spent your weekend (Worksheet 3). Don't forget to use Past Simple correctly.
V Interaction
1. Pair work.
a). Exchange the stories about your weekend, using Past Simple (Worksheet 3).
b). Give your feedback about your partner story.
2. Watch a video and make up short dialogues. You may use the ideas from the video and add your own ones.

VI Summarize your knowledge.
Work in pairs.
Student 1: Imagine that a new student came to your class. He/she didn’t learn Past Simple. Explain him/her how to form Past Simple (regular and irregular verbs) and write positive sentences in Past Simple. You may use the material presented on our class site.
Student 2: You had a test last week. Your friend made several mistakes and got a poor grade. Explain to him what was wrong with his/her work. (See attachment 4)
