Aesop's Fables

Aesop was an ancient Greek story teller credited with a number of fables now collectively known as Aesop's Fables.  Many of the tales are characterized by animals and objects that speak, solve problems, and generally have human characteristics.

Not many people know much about Aesop but he is believed to have been slave from Ethiopia who gained his freedom through his intelligence. Some descriptions say he was very ugly however no one can argue that he had an amazing mind and for this he will always be remembered.

The stories are short and easy to understand but can offer deeper discussions on character and morality making them ideal for teaching preschool, key stage 1 and years 3 and 4.
