Assyrian Children's Religious Songs and Action Rhymes

This book, published in 2013, contains 158 pages of religious songs and action rhymes suitable for children of 3 to 12 years old. These were translated by my father, the late Rabi Youel Davis, and I back in 1983. At that time, due to problems in the country, there were no Assyrian printing presses; therefore the entire book was hand written by two Assyrians with beautiful hand writing. That is why I decided to publish the book in its original form to conserve the artistic work and the memory of these two patriots: Mr. Kouroush Zaya d’Gougtapa and Mr. Giwargis Tamraz.

Most of the songs are simple and short as they are intended for children of three to six years old so that they will learn the Assyrian language in a simple and fun way. The songs and the action rhymes are divided into eleven topics including Worship, God's gifts to us, Jesus and his love for us, Christmas, Easter, etc., which are suitable for Sunday and Vacation Bible Schools as well as performances to delight parents and believers. Le Livre de Chansons et de Comptines Religieuses

pour les Enfant Assyriens

Ce livre, publié en 2013, contient 158 pages de chansons, de comptines, et de jeux de doigts pour les enfants de trois à douze ans. Ceux-ci ont été traduits par mon père Rabi Youel Davis et moi-même en 1983. A cette époque-là les assyriens en Iran n’avaient plus d’imprimerie en assyrien en raison de problèmes politiques et sociaux. Par conséquent, ce livre a été entièrement écrit à la main par deux jeunes assyriens dont l’écriture assyrienne était très jolie. Ainsi, j’ai décidé de garder ce livre dans sa version originale à la mémoire de ces deux patriotes:

M. Kouroush Zaya d’Gougtapa et M. Giwargis Tamraz.

La plus part des chansons sont courtes et faciles à apprendre par les enfants de trois à six ans, pour qu’ils puissent apprendre la langue assyrienne de manière facile et amusante. Les chansons, les comptines et les jeux de doigts sont divisés en onze différents sujets, ce qui les rend adéquats au catéchisme et convenables pour les spectacles.

Introduction

This short video introduces a series of seven videos on Action Rhymes for children. The introduction is in three languages: Assyrian, English and French. These videos constitute most of the Action Rhymes published in the book entitled: Assyrian Children's Religious Songs and Action Rhymes, which may be purchased from www.lulu.com. Every action rhyme is performed twice. The first time it is performed from the beginning to the end to allow the children to watch the actions while listening to the words; the second time it is performed line by line so that the children may repeat the words and follow the actions after each line.

Cette courte introduction présente les septs vidéos de comptines et de jeux de doigts en trois langues: assyrienne, anglaise et française. Ces vidéos contiennent la plupart des comptines du livre: “Chansons et Comptines Religieuses pour les Enfants Assyriens”, que vous pouvez acheter chez www.lulu.com. Ces comptines sont regroupées sous différents sujets tels que "Noël", "Pâques", "La prière", etc. Chaque vidéo contient un ou deux sujets. Chaque comptine est interprétée deux fois: la première fois en entier, et la deuxième fois ligne par ligne pour que les enfants puissent répéter les mots et imiter les actions au fur et à mesure.
