There are TWO training dates for Counselors. Both are mandatory.
Counselor Training Session (Mandatory)
Date/Time: April 26, 2025 (TENTATIVE)!!
Location: Montrose Program House
New Counselors: 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Returning Counselors: please come at 12:30pm if you want lunch; otherwise 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
In addition to the training you will receive, the following must be completed in your Units before you leave the Training Session:
Plan your Badge Work and get it approved
Plan your meals and get them signed off
Sign up for Frames, Crafts, and other HQ Activities
Sign up for the Ice Cream makers
Count your bandanas and check t-shirt sizes
Sign both the Counselor Contract and Financial Contract
Return Camper Letters, ready to mail in envelopes, plus the extra Camper Letter to be filed
Collect and count your Unit funds
Camp Prep Session (Mandatory)
Date/Time Saturday, June 7, 2025, 9:00 AM
Hahamongna Park, La Canada
Counselors will receive final camp training, schedule changes, and park safety updates. They will also prepare their camp sites physically.
Counselor Training is Mandatory.
Adult Training (Mandatory)
SESSION 1: TBA

LOCATION: You will receive notification of the address after you register online to be an Adult Volunteer, or as soon as a location has been established.
You must attend one of the sessions. You will receive a confirmation email with the location closer to the date. Depending on your role in camp, you may be required to attend one or both of the Counselor training sessions, too.
