Important Notice for 2013 Day Camp: WAIT LIST FOR CAMPERS and Application Process

Pre-registration for Campers will be on a FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED basis. The amount of campers depends entirely upon how many Girl Scout Counselors and Adult Volunteers there are. You will be notified in your confirmation email whether your camper(s) have been placed on a Wait List. After Registration Night, we will notify any additional campers we can place via email and at that time, full payment and completed forms will be due.

We will open Camper Applications on March 10 and close them on March 17. We need time to process all the applications and insure that we are accepting only as many campers as we have adequate amounts of Counselors and Adult Volunteers. We may re-open the online Camper Application in the future if we have space after placing our confirmed campers and any that are placed on the Wait List.

All paperwork (completed and signed forms and full payment) is due on Registration Night. If you don't turn your paperwork in on that night, we reserve the right to move your daughter to the bottom of the Wait List. If you have someone turn in your forms/payment on Registration Night and there are any issues or problems with your forms or payment check, your camper will be moved to the bottom of the Wait List, so please be certain that your forms are complete, signed, your payment check is correct and that you have a confirmation number.

What is a CHIC?

CHIC Is and CHIC IIs are entering 7th and 8th grade (in the fall of the upcoming school year) Girl Scouts, respectively. CHIC stands for Cadette Helper in Camp. CHICs are essentially Counselors-in-Training. They are still considered Campers, not Counselors, and pay a reduced fee to attend camp. They are learning the skills that will enable them to become Counselors in 9th grade and lead their own Camping Unit! If your daughter will be an entering 8th Grader IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that they attend the CHIC II year. If they do not complete CHIC II, it is difficult to earn the necessary certification during the school year, and they will not have the opportunity to become Counselors with their friends at camp the following year.

Registration

Every person who participates in Day Camp needs to register. Counselor and Adult registration takes place entirely online. Camper, CHIC I/II, and Play Camp participants can pre-register online, but signed forms and payment need to be collected in person. The time and location of this Registration is:

Last year camp was so popular, it was difficult to find enough Counselors for all the Campers who wanted to attend. This year, camp Pre-registration will be FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED. You will be notified in your confirmation email whether you were wait listed or not. We will also try to show the status of Registration on the web site. The earlier you register, the better your chance is of getting a spot for your daughter. Please tell your friends!

We have an estimated number of spots for Campers based on the number of Counselors we expect to have register this year. Once we fill up those spots, we will email you to let you know if you have been placed on the Wait List. Those at the top of the Wait List have a good chance of getting in. If you know girls who are qualified to be Counselors, encourage them to volunteer this year and sign up early. The more Counselors we have, the more Camper spots we'll have. We also need adults who can help run Day Camp. If we don't have enough adults, that will limit the number of Camper spots available. If you can volunteer all 5 days at camp, your daughter will have a guaranteed spot in Day Camp.

In addition, all paperwork (signed forms and payment) is due on Registration Night. If you don't turn your paperwork in on that night, we reserve the right to move you to the bottom of the Wait List.

If you were Wait Listed during Pre-Registration, you can bring your form and payment on Registration Night. We will hang on to it and notify you as spots become available. Girls on the Wait List who turn in their paperwork and payment on Registration Night will be moved to the top of the Wait List.

If you have any questions, please email lcf.gs.daycamp@gmail.com.

Wait List:

We are extremely full this year and are not accepting any more girls for camp.

However, we would LOVE to have more Counselors. With more counselors, we might be able to take more campers. Please register on the Counselor Registration page. If you know any Girl Scouts who are qualified to be counselors, please encourage them to volunteer with us this summer and send them the URL of this page!

If your daughter will be entering 8th grade in the Fall of 2012, please send an email to lcf.gs.daycamp@gmail.com. This is the crucial year for Scouts to complete their training to become Counselors, and there is still space available.

If your daughter will be entering 1st - 7th grade in the Fall of 2012 and you are interested in having her name added to our Wait List, please send your daughter's name and the grade she will be entering in the FALL of 2012 to lcf.gs.daycamp@gmail.com. We will notify you as spots open up.

Confirmations:

We had so many girls register for camp this year that we got a little behind on Email Confirmations for Counselors and Adults. If you are a Counselor who registered after 3/25, we probably have your registration. Please give us until 4/15 to get a letter back to you. We haven't forgotten about the adults, either. We'll get to those soon, too.

Refunds:

We cannot extend refunds after May 1st since many supplies for your daughter will already have been ordered by this date.

Deadlines:

Online pre-registration for Campers has been closed.

We are extremely full this year.

Online Pre-Registration was extended to Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

Signed applications and payment for non-Counselors are due in person on March 29, 2012. (See below for time and place.)

Confirmation Forms:

All confirmation forms for Campers and Play Campers have been emailed.

You should receive a confirmation form in email within 48 hours of submitting your application online.

If you don't, double check your spam filter first, then email lcfgsdaycamp@gmail.com.

*** If you have an Earthlink email address, or other white-list:

please add this email address to your address book or trusted list: lcf.gs.daycamp@gmail.com

otherwise you will not receive the required Confirmation Form.

Camper Brochures with details about camp are available through the link on the left.
