60m2 Accommodation for a maximum of 4 people (one separate bedroom for 2 adults).
The living room is open plan, bright and cool in the hot summers with high ceilings and wood beams. Including two relaxing reading chairs, dining table and chairs, fully equipped fitted kitchen with microwave/steamer, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer.
The personal covered terrace provides outdoor dining which includes bbq, outdoor table and 6 chairs with two further relaxing chairs. Or you can choose to eat at the poolside where there is more seating available.
There is a children's gate in place at the top of the stairs and some games and toys are available. TV and DVD player are in the living room and wireless computer network has been installed for use in the gite.
Your view is the swimming pool (directly in front) and the mountains beyond. Recent improvements include an improved kitchen, new larger fridge freezer, freshly decorated interior, an extra window, new veranda (with UV protection glass roof) and newly tiled and extended outdoor terrace to make it a much lighter and comfortable family gite.
All the bedding is included and some towels, but please bring your own pool towels or additional towels if you feel you need them. If you stay for a second week, we are happy to use the machine for washing clothes and towels.
The mezzanine open room includes a bunk bed and another double bed. The bathroom is downstairs and includes a safety thermos controlled shower with separate closed WC.
The 1st floor includes a closed bedroom with a king-size bed and wardrobe, south facing window facing the pool and the mountains.
Children
Laporte is wonderful for children. We have a two ponds full of aquatic life to explore the nature all around us. The swimming pool, table tennis, badminton and basketball net is available to use. All our animals are friendly. Only the two neighbouring houses use the road which is far up the driveway, so it is very safe.
We do have some respectful/safety rules: Please don't let the children throw balls in the flower beds, there is plenty of land available for ball play. We have our own children (although grown up now), but we have invested a great deal of time and money to make beautiful gardens for all to enjoy. The pool has an alarm, but sorry we only accept babies (no wandering toddlers) or children who have received their swimming certificates, to reduce the risk that comes with ponds and swimming pools. When they play near the water, they should still be supervised and this is your responsibility.
You are welcome to help yourself to fruit from the trees, they must be gentle with picking fruit off young trees, so as not to break the branches. There are only a few rules but they are all based on safety and general respect, as it is still our home, if this is not suitable for you please don't book a gite.
After travelling a great deal with our own children we understand it is wonderful to arrive somewhere where you don’t have to worry about carrying too much equipment for your children. We have a number of things you can borrow if you warn us prior to your arrival. These are the things we have available:
