Adventure activities in the Ariege Region and the Pyrenees
As you saw from the picture of our house we are surrounded by green country hills, followed by snow covered peaks, these are the wonderful French Pyrenees mountains Hiking in the Pyrenees followed by Andorra.
There is plenty of adventure to choose from, with skies lit with stars, huge range of biomes, fascinating geology and flora and fauna that will keep all ages and levels entertained, why not try:
Mountain hiking and climbing
Horse Riding
Canoeing/Kayaking/Paddle boarding/water skiing/sailing/windsurfing
Caving/Canyoning
Skiing and other winter sports
Mountain Biking/road cycling
Fishing
Quad biking
The local hills invite you for a tough cycle. There are plenty of locally marked trails for walkers, fresh water rivers and lakes to swim, canoe or fish or go into the mountains. Your adventures are endless and very pure and often you don't see any people people on your track. The Pyrenees is a hidden treasure, an adventurers dream that has hardly changed for centuries.
Whilst it is great to just go off on your own adventures and very possible, we recommend for your precious holiday time, that you don't waste time on deliberating and plan your choices before you arrive or at least at the start of your holiday, with our local Pyrenees adventure and adviser Will Burchall (speaks English and French). With a lifetime of personal adventures in many countries and tough terrains, he can help you with everything from teaching you to paddle board, renting bikes or kayaks to taking you up Mont Valier, climbing or abseiling into caves. You can contact him on info@pyrennesadventure.com, mobile 07887498230 or find out more information on: www.pyreneesadventure.com
