Camp Ground for hire

Need somewhere to pitch a tent for the night? Or a great hut to sleep in? Looking to host an outdoor adventure for the extended family ?

Our Scout camps are available for public hire. Visit Scouts Queensland to find out more.

Venue Hire

The Kurilpa Scout Den is available for regular or ad hoc hire.

Den is equipped with kitchen, central activity area, raised and curtained stage. The Den has fans but is not air-conditioned.

Toilets are located outside of the den. A BBQ can be made available upon request.

Hire fee is approximately $25 per hour - subject to negotiation.

Containers for Change

Use scheme ID C10003762 when cashing in your containers to donate to the Kurilpa Scout Group.

Composting Hub

We operate a Community Composting Hub from the Kurilpa Scout Group Den.

Turn kitchen scraps into nutrients for soil and access compost for use in your garden.

Register online with Brisbane City Council to be involved and you might get a free kitchen caddy to transport your scraps!.

Battery Recycling

Kurilpa Scouts care about the environment and future generations.

We have a battery recycling bin at the Den for community use. Click here for more info on what can be recycled.

Sausage sizzle stall

Have BBQ and can travel.

The Kurilpa Scout Group acknowledges the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and Department of Environment and Energy’s Solar Communities Program which has provided a grant for the installation of solar at the Scout Den.

Parent supporters

Successful Scout Groups support and are supported by their member families and the community.

All trained leaders are Volunteers, so support from parents is critical.

Our parents help out by:

  • Assisting with activities

  • Joining the Group Committee and/or assisting with administration

  • Fundraising

  • Providing transport

  • Gardening and DIY maintenance

  • Organising a Group excursion to their workplace

  • Food shopping & cooking for camps

  • Offering their unique talents and skills for a Group theme night

  • Sourcing quotes for grant applications

  • Help with marketing
