Our group will be automatically notified once each registration is made, and we will contact you to discuss next steps.
Like all scout groups, Kurilpa Scout Group is entirely resourced by volunteers. It is hoped that one adult per family can volunteer in one role or another to ensure the viability of the group.
What does it cost to join?
There is a “one-time” new member enrolment fee which is charged on a pro rata basis dependent on the month you join.
Subsequently, a membership fee is charged every six months. This is paid to Branch (Qld Office) and covers personal accident and public liability insurance as well as state and national administration costs and National/World Capitation Fees.
Each individual Scout Group also charges term fees to support local delivery of the Scouting Program. Kurilpa Scout Group charges $60 per first child per term. The fees reduce for each succeeding child.
Scouts Queensland is a FairPlay voucher activity provider. Parents, Carers or Guardians can apply for a voucher from the Government valued up to $200 for their child, which can be used towards sport and active recreation membership, per calendar year.
Overnight activities, camps and major events are charged separately to meet costs.
Kurilpa undertakes fundraising activities during the year to help us keep costs low.
Uniforms
Each youth member will require a uniform, consisting of a section shirt, scarf with woggle and optional hat.
Additional camping and outdoor activity equipment may be desirable, such as dilly bags and back packs.
These items can be purchased online at the Scout Shop www.scoutshop.com.au
Enclosed shoes are required at all times due to safety requirements.
Special Activity Fees
Fees may apply for special activities, for example overnight hikes or camps, adventurous activities like abseiling, rafting, rock climbing, paddling or bushwalking. These activities are entirely optional.
