How I apply this standard in my professional practice.
This standard is one that is often applied in my professional career. As a video producer working in higher education, collaborating with subject matter experts is a daily experience. At the college of veterinary medicine at K-State, I often worked with veterinarians to create continuing-education videos. I relied on their knowledge to design and assess the success of these videos. Currently at KU, I work with instructors from a wide variety of departments and offices to create videos on a range of topics, including chemistry, film music history, and undergraduate research.
I'm also constantly learning about new technologies, such as 360 degree video, and thinking about how they can be applied to my work. Reflecting on new technologies are an important part of my professional development. This can be seen in my professional development plan that I created for ELP 720: Social Media Technology. This plan allowed me to reflect on my professional practice and growth. By continuing to learn more and expand my experience through this plan, I can continued to lead my peers in designing and implementing new learning technologies in the media that I create.
