How I apply this standard in my professional practice.
This standard requires the ability to create instructional materials and select the technological processes and resources to support learning. In the past, as a digital media specialist who helps instructors create videos for online and flipped classes, I often have to demonstrate my ability to create instructional materials. I've been a video producer for many years so I am very familiar with the production process and the decision required to complete an educational video.
I also help these instructors select the correct production methods and resources to enable them to complete videos for their courses. I've created videos and handouts to help introduce instructors to new instructional methods and how to create media for their classes. The creation of any video or other project required that I successfully manage instructors, time and other resources to complete many different instructional and communication projects. Through my years of working in higher education, I've also worked with many instructors to create and assess the success of their videos and I apply these lessons on a daily basis.
