Name: Edzi
Basic Description: Little kitten troublemaker with Extreme Arcane Power
Nicknames/Aliases/Titles: It is also appropriate to refer to him with the -ma suffix, but he prefers not to have it since that indicates that he's a young apprentice and that they're treating him like a child.
Gender/Pronouns: Cis male, he/him
Orientation: Questioning but probably some kind of asexual
Age: 19
Species: Khajiit (Alfiq)
Occupation: Necromancer (MagDPS/Heals), apprentice wizard, problem child.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Physical Description: He smol. Even by Alfiq standards he’s smaller than normal. Most of his fur is black except for his face, which has stark skull-like white markings. He wears a dark purple hood with little holes cut out for his ears and a silver ring around his tail, but also has no qualms with going naked sometimes, especially when he’s pretending to be a house cat. Standards of modesty for the four-legged Khajiit are a little bit loose. Nothing can be decided until they’ve figured out how they would wear pants, and this has been the cause of
Faceclaim: The Haunted House Cat pet lol
Personality: Edzi is mischievous and playful, though he sometimes will go too far with his pranks. People stress out about jokes too much and are too easily offended by harmless little jokes that weren’t supposed to end in maiming that was an honest accident!
Edzi is also a voracious reader and a compulsive hoarder of knowledge and secrets. He knows a lot about a lot of things, though he’s more book smart than street smart. He’s constantly on the prowl for fun facts, hidden trivia and unsolved mysteries. He’s a nerd okay
He has a complicated relationship with religion. While on the one hand he studied from a young age to join the priesthood, on the other hand he was terrible at it due to his constant questions and almost instinctive sense of rebellion, never mind how boring he thought it all was. He finds that he takes more comfort and pride in faith when he’s around non-Khajiit, probably for the same reasons he didn’t care about it when he was surrounded by monks and bishops who were all trying to get him into this stuff.
While he thinks he’s super smart and a great liar and a smeaky boi, he’s actually trusting to a fault. He doesn’t want to see the best in people, he’s just sort of sheltered and lonely and desperately wants people to like him and will sort of ignore a lot of red flags. He doesn’t like seeing people get hurt, even when they deserve it.
Likes: Books! God, he loves books! (Dear Princess Celestia, he is so aloneeee)
He likes sweets, especially sweet creamy spicy drinks. He would like a chai latte plz and also he would like some curry too. And ice cream! Spices and cream and sugar yes good snacks for a cat!
He’s a sucker for mystery novels. He’s an Investigator Vale fanboy and has written some really cringy self insert fanfic for that series that no one is allowed to read.
He likes meeting new people and asking them too many questions. He may seem spooky but he’s really quite friendly. He’s a sweet boy at heart.
Dislikes: He’s got PTSD from the Knahaten flu and will have meltdowns sometimes triggered by nosebleeds, and he’s getting better about coughs but he still freaks out a bit when he hears them. He also gets extremely worried about his health and the health of his companions.
He does not care for hypocrites or people who stand up on their high horses whilst actually hurting people. Anyone who spends a lot of time trying to appear to be a good person or spends a lot of time condemning others is probably doing something awful that they’re trying to distract from.
He’s not as salty about being perceived as an animal and a pet as most Alfiq, since he’s found it useful at times to be underestimated, but he is a little salty. He’s more salty when people don’t acknowledge how cool he is at magic because oh look at the cute kitty who thinks he’s a powerful wizard! BITE THEM
Skills and Abilities: He’s really into magic, but specifically he’s into necromancy. He justifies it by saying that the dead are dead forever and he is just borrowing them for a time. And undead minions are handy and useful and more trustworthy than Daedric ones which’ll try to eat him sometimes. Magic is magic is magic. All magic can be used for good, all magic can be used for evil. Magic reflects the heart of the caster. His heart is good so his magic is good, right? Right? People are just easily scared by mortality but he’s not! He’s so not afraid to die that he’ll live forever! Necromancy makes you face death but the goal is that it stops people from dying altogether!
Back in the temple, he learned healing, and while he didn't end up joining the order, he's still a pretty decent healer. People who want to talk him out of the necromancy might try to talk him into pursuing that instead, since he's good at it and he's constantly going on about how he wants to help people and stop them from dying, and that seems like an obvious alternative. But the thing is that Edzi sees necromancy as Advanced Extra Healing, and more or less an extension of the healing he already knew. If you're so bent out of shape about the natural order, you should hate healing most of all. Jerk.
Aside from the necromancy, Edzi knows a variety of other spells, specifically the kinds of spells that are good for hiding, good for disabling people so they can’t catch him and good for moving things around because he has no opposable thumbs.
Affiliations: The Resurrectors (Apprentice, later traitor), the Northern Elsweyr Defense Force (Double Agent/Mole), Jovial Lambasters (occasional associate what sometimes likes to hang out at their parties and talk about the times he hung out with Barbas, even though none of them believe him),
Family: Pennazhi (mother), Samhi-do (uncle), S’vullis (older brother)
Associates: Farrokh (played by @Fallown)
Enemies: J'skar (played by @SolinarTheWizard), (though the rivalry is a little more on J'skar's end than Edzi's)
Their past: Edzi is a young Alfiq from a large family in Torval that’s served the Mane for generations. As a child, the Knahaten flu swept through his family, killing his father, many of his relatives and nearly killing him, stunting his growth and leaving him small even by the standards of his breed.
As he went through adolescence he began to get into more trouble than his mother could handle. So she decided to send him out to his uncle, who had retired from the Mane’s Warrior Guard to start a small sugar plantation out in the countryside. She thought that taking him away from the city and giving him some guidance from an experienced mentor would help calm him down.
He found this place super boring until one day they were raided by slavers working for House Telvanni. Many of his uncle’s workers were taken and so his uncle vowed to go to Morrowind, track them down and rescue them. He didn’t want to break his promise to his sister to look after her son so he took Edzi along. He wasn’t so young that he would be a burden, and getting out and aiding others might teach him that responsibility that his mother wanted him to learn.
Most of what this taught him was that the Telvanni were garbage awful people who had a lot of neat books about neat magical practices like necromancy that he could steal and study. He poured over these stolen tomes and began to practice the spells within them for himself. Edzi liked the idea of conquering death through magic.
After they had freed the slaves and took them back to Elsweyr, Edzi heard that up north in Rimmen there was some big gathering of necromancers in the service of that Imperial whatsherface and decided that instead of going back to the farm, he’d like to go and join them. His uncle was disappointed in him, but understood that he was no longer a ja’khajiit and he was in charge of his own life and let him go.

Their future?:
Alternate Universes: I would say he’s based on Edi Raventalon, my Charr Necromancer but really both of them are based on my real life cat, Edgar Allen Poe.
