Dear Brother Knights,
As we close 2025 and begin a new year, I want to thank each of you for being a Knight. As members, you have stood up and said, “I want to make a difference in my faith, my parish, and my community!”
In 2025, Council 12979 received the Star Council Award, recognizing overall excellence in membership, promotion of fraternal benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs, and service-oriented activities. In addition to the Star Council, our “Faith in Action” program was awarded 3rd place at last year’s Colorado Knights’ State Convention out of more than 150 of our state’s councils.
Below is a link to download your 2026 dues renewal statement. Over the last few years, our council has been experiencing a budget deficit. We have been able to cover this shortfall with the council’s savings, but this situation is not sustainable. To address this, the officers proposed increasing dues by $1 per month to $48, which was approved by a vote of the council. This is our first increase in 25 years, and it will allow us to responsibly maintain our award-winning programs.
As in the past, you also have an opportunity to contribute to the council’s Seminarian Support Fund. We will continue to support our four seminarians with $500 each through your voluntary contributions. If every member chose to donate just an additional $12, we could cover most of the support costs.
We are also offering an online electronic payment choice on the “Cheddar Up” website. If you wish to pay by credit card, follow this link to our payment page: https://2026-knights-of-columbus-council-12979-and-assembly-2409.cheddarup.com. You can choose this payment option, if desired, and save a stamp, but you will be charged a small processing fee.
If you want to pay by check, download the statement below, print it, and mail the bottom portion with your check to our Financial Secretary, Tom Pugh. Please do not send cash in the mail. If you would like to pay by cash, please see Tom Pugh at one of our council meetings.
Finally, we ask for an estimate of the number of hours you spent volunteering in 2025. This includes all your volunteer time, whether for the Church, scouts, a school, a hospital, the community, helping neighbors, visiting the sick, donating blood, and, of course, your Knights activities. Please enter the total hours on the return stub with your payment, or if you pay on Cheddar Up, fill out the form on the payment website.
If any member is currently experiencing financial difficulty and has trouble paying their dues, please contact either myself or Tom Pugh so we can assist.
Thank you for your continued support, and God Bless.
Vivat Jesus,
Bill Hack
Grand Knight
