I will give credit to Christine Barber as the first person to find the old bakehouse. Of course, this is not exactly accurate, as I am certain there are many people who knew it was right there all along. What I mean is that she is the first to help me find it - a very valuable service, given that my research has been conducted from a very long distance (i.e. Oklahoma).
Christine is related loosely to the Traffords of Kirtlington (by 2 marriages). She was born in nearby Lower Heyford, and grew up in Kirtlington (now living in Spain). Hence, her knowledge of the village proved very useful.
