Journal of Ethologyは大変“お得”な学術誌です．
まず，投稿料は原則無料で，会員であれば非会員に1ページ¥8,000課される超過ページ代がありません．会費も一般¥5,000，学生¥3,000と，非常にお得です．
なんと言っても「無料の英文校閲サービス」がついています．これは会員・非会員の別はありません．英文校閲を無料で提供している学術誌は非常に珍しいです！
さらに，確定している期間は残り4年ですが，年一回，編集長・副編集長で掲載論文の中から優れた論文を選び，Editors' Choice AwardとしてOpen Accessの権利が与えられます．金額にすると€2,200で，およそ30万円ということになります．30万円も肩代わりしてくれる雑誌なんて，他にはありません．

Submitting your papers to the Journal of Ethology could greatly save your money!
First, if you are member of the Japan Ethological Society, you are free from the additional page charge (¥8,000/p). The annual membership fee is quite reasonable, ¥5,000 for general members and ¥3,000 for students.
Next, you should be provided with a FREE ENGLISH EDITING service after your paper is accepted regardless of the membership. This is special and extremely unique among numerous scientific journals.
Finally, some excellent paper(s) are awarded with a prize (Editors' Choice Award) every year, through a screening process by Editor-in-Chief and associate editors. The right for Open Access is awarded to the prize winning papers, which usually costs €2,200!!! (about ¥300,000). There are little such journals in the world, except the Journal of Ethology!!
