Counseling provides the opportunity to work towards living a more satisfying life during times of distress, confusion, choice or change. This is achieved by giving you the respect, attention and time necessary to explore and clarify your resources, values, strengths, goals, abilities, and perspectives. I will ask questions, challenge you and offer ideas.
Counseling aims to facilitate not advise. The intention is not to prescribe solutions, but to assist you in using your own personal resources to examine your difficulties and the choices you have for dealing with those difficulties. With confidentiality and respect for your own perception of experience, you will be supported and guided towards finding your own solutions.
A central part of my work is creating a space of safe self-discovery. I offer an orientation that is characterized by curiosity, openness, and acceptance. Mine is a very personal approach that is tailored to your specific needs.
