Playstation VR is the first gen hardware that works on PS4 and PS5. It is older and basically outdated so it can be purchased used for a good price. The PSVR2 has replaced it and most new vr content only supports the 2nd gen hardware.
There are projects to use the PSVR on PCs (Linux, Apple, Windows). I'm interested in Office Productivity in VR so I'm trying to set this up. So far I've downloaded the envision project on Fedora 42 but unable to get it working.
The hardware was suspectible to locking up when hot swapped to the laptop. I think I have to turn everything off (cold boot) and then setup the hardware. That's how I fixed it on the Ps5 when it broke. maybe that would work to allow the laptop to see it.
