After working for over 13 years at a local franchisor I resigned in March, 2020. It's sad because I didn't leave over money or a new job. The I.T. systems had been under resourced for decades and I just couldn't stand to be there anymore.
My plan was to climb for a month and then get a different job but the virus extended that to 6 months. In that time I learned new technologies and traveled and climbed throughout the Western US.
Now I work as a Senior DBA in a much larger and healthier environment. In addition to higher pay I also have a team of coworkers who I can turn to for help and the ideas that I bring to the organization are embraced instead of blocked.
Friends and co-workers describe me as
honest
pleasant to work with
knowledgeable
funny
detail oriented
I describe myself as
forward thinking
careful
fastidious (ok, no one uses this word--not even me)

Though I use git regularly I don't have much work on github or gitlab--opting instead to keep files local. Here are projects I built that I pushed up to sourceforge. These range from the last few years to decades ago.
