These assessments consists of quizzes and tests that correspond with the state standards and state exam.
The assessments consist of multiple choice questions and free response questions. The information gathered from these tests determine whether a concept has to be revisited to remediate any misconceptions and determine individual student strength/weaknesses to help facilitate their understanding and success in chemistry
These assessments include lab reports, presentations and projects. Through these types of assessments, I am able to assess whether the student has a better understanding of concepts and be able to apply them to their tasks.
Some example assessments are provided below.
Groups were all given different scenarios. This group was tasked to be part of a CSI team that was analyzing the paint evidence of an accident. They had to be able to determine which vehicle was responsible for the hit and run.
Students were given the task to create their own rube-goldberg aparatus and choose one part of the apparatus to show how the concepts of physics are applied.
