Lesson 3
Objectives:
Students will solidify their understanding of comparison contrast essays.
Students will practice giving multi-media presentations.
Tools:
Wikispaces: http://www.wikispaces.com
Student-found tools for their presentations
Methods:
Discussion - (5-10 minutes) - Did anyone encounter any problems, questions, or interesting things to share with the class while doing their homework?
Activity 1 - "Presentations" - (90 minutes) - Each group will have 20 minutes to present their process and final product (wiki - comparison/contrast essay) to the class in any way the group has decided to.
Activity 2 - "Assessment" - (10 minutes) - Hand out three copies of the rubric to each student. Fill in the rubric and give any feedback you would like for each group. Do not put your name on it. When you have finished filling out all three rubrics, hand them to the correct group.
Activity 3 - "Discussion" - (10 minutes) - Each group look at the feedback (rubrics) you got from your classmates and talk with the whole class about your response to the project. What worked well? What would you have liked to have done differently? If we do this kind of project again, how would you change it?
(collect all rubrics for inclusion in grading process)
