Well, I'm getting started. This is my first web entry to kick off my 2009 road trip. If you're reading this, you are one of an incredibly select group of individuals. That's right, you're special. You dress well. Your work hard. You get up early and do good things each day. You're an asset to the world. Also, I don't know that many people, so you're one of the few. I guess it might help if I spoke Chinese or was on Facebook.
Ok, so I thought I would lay down a few ground rules for both reader and driver.
1) Carbon netural (12,000 miles at 30 mpg = 400 galloons of gas = 8,000 lbs of CO2). Offset bought from nativenergy.com
2) Don't say nothing that would offend mom (you read that right)
3) Keep it short. No one wants to read a treatise on driving
4) Have fun. I enjoy the road, you enjoy the narrative
5) Every entry should have 3 basics: a distance update, poker status and a quote
Miles driven: 0
Poker Status: I've been practicing online for my trip. Alas, only losses so far.
Quote of the Day: "The car has become a secular sanctuary for the individual, his shrine to the self, his mobile Walden Pond." ~Edward McDonagh
