Birch Bay Retreat sleeps groups of up to 14 adults or more.
Important Notes: We provide pillows and blankets, but no bedsheets or towels (with limited exceptions). Please bring your own fitted and flat sheets (queen-sized) and pillowcases. Please also bring your own fuel for the boat and for the BBQ grill (kerosene tank) if you plan to use them.
Amenities at Birch Bay Retreat:
Bedrooms: Sleeps 14, Beds for 10-14
- Bedroom 1/master: 1 queen
- Master Br. has queen bed and attached bath with generous closet space.
- Bedroom 2: king that can be separated into 2 twin / single beds.
- Located on the ground level, with a separate full bath, this room is perfect for children or single adults to share if the beds are separated.
- Bedroom 3: 1 queen
- This is a very well-lit room on the upstairs level.
- Bedroom 4: 1 sleeper sofa
- This is in the living room, upstairs.
- Bedroom 5: 1 sleeper sofa
- This sleeping area is an extension of the dining room on the upstairs level, with large windows opening onto the lawn. The area is separable by privacy glass sliding doors from the interior rooms of the house.
- Bedroom 6: 1 sleeper sofa
- This sleeping area is located on ground level / rec room area, and separable by a privacy screen from other areas of the house.
- Bedroom 7: 1 futon
- This sleeping area is located on the lower level / rec room area.
- Bedroom 8: 1 pull-out cot
- Twin cot that can pull out to form a double twin bed. Sleeps 1-2 children or adults.
Additionally, there are 2 roll-away cots available (twin-sized) if needed.
Bathrooms:
- Bathroom 1: toilet, combination tub/shower, tub, shower
This bath is on main floor & adjoins the master bedroom
- Bathroom 2: toilet, combination tub/shower, tub, shower
Ground floor bath for rec-room & bedrooms
General
- Wireless internet, television and local phone service included
- Central A/C
- Washer & Dryer (bring your own detergent), clothes rack and outdoor clothesline
- Iron & Ironing board
- Hair dryer in each bathroom
- Parking -- comfortable parking for several cars, please discuss with us if there is a need for overflow parking
Cooking & Dining
- Guests provide their own meals. The house has a fully supplied kitchen with refrigerator (with ice machine), stove, microwave and dishwasher.
- We provide a kerosene grill for your BBQ! Please bring your own kerosene (can be purchased at grocery stores in town).
- We also provide some small appliances: a coffee machine and toaster, a panini grill, blenders (e.g. for making smoothies).
- There is a large dining room table accommodating ten adults, and dishes, utensils, and glassware for 14+ guests.
- Our large aluminum pier is big enough to accommodate two boats with room to spare. We also provide a swim raft for you to enjoy. Relax on the bench at the end of the pier while watching swimmers and boaters on the lake!
- We also provide a large well maintained pontoon boat for use while you are our guest. We only charge for fuel used, otherwise the boat is included in your rental charge.
- To ensure everyone enjoys their particular pursuits the lake is split into time zones, 10am - 4pm open boating for water sports & 4pm - 10am the following day is 'No wake' for the fishermen in the family.
Outdoors
- The house has a large balcony / deck, with patio seating.
- On the ground floor, an enclosed, covered patio lets you enjoy the outdoors while keeping out the bugs and rain.
- A fire pit is provided with bench seating
Entertainment
- Ping-Pong Table and Foosball table in the basement.
- TV & DVD player (guests are welcome to bring & hook up their own game systems).
- Books and games are available for rainy days.
