Baba, a camel born at the zoo
Servals, Cleo and Claude, who went to Drusillas Animal Park when Zootopia closed. They were pets that were donated to Mr Gordon Brown, at Keeper at Zootopia.
In 1950, Bognor Regis Town Council opened a small animal collection, intially called 'Pets' Corner', in a five acre section of Hotham Park. The collection later became known as 'Hotham Park Zoo' and eventually 'Zootopia'. After that the area became known as Rainbow's End and continued trading with varied success for some time. I have written a short book about it, which is now available in its second edition from Amazon UK. Copies can also be purchased at Bognor Regis Local History Museum.
There is also an interesting thread on the 'zoochat' forum, which gives a good flavour of the development of this now closed collection, so have a look - you don't need to be a member. Make sure you look at the photographic archive if you bought the original book. All extra images from the second edition will be there and many more besides. I am aiming to build the most comprehensive photographic collection online but it will take me some time as I am seeking permission for everything I use.
