Structure searching algorithm for carbohydrate molecules
My main research topic is about structure searching. So far, I have involved in three publications which focused on using theoretical calculation to support the experimental evidence. In particular, we explored the transition states from different reaction channels to determine the preferable reaction channel. My main contribution in those research projects are: creating a tool to systematically determine the transition state of two dissociation channel of sodiated hexoses, generating structure database covering the most crucial conformers used for CID spectra interpretation, which can flexibly be applied on various chemical systems including neutral/protonated saccharides. So far, my research focuses on the structural analysis (hydrogen bond, sodiation effect…) based on the structure database. In the future, I hope I can integrate machine learning algorithms to solve the more complex problems, and therefore, establishing a good structure database will be an indispensable part of my goal.
