Rising Trebles 2018-2019

Are you already overly involved in other activities but still want to dabble in performance and experience the art of music?

This is the place for you

  • Vocal Soul "Rising Trebles"-All first year general chorus (at the high school level) soprano and alto voices will operate as its own stand alone ensemble. This group provides a break from the more serious concert literature performed by other groups by performing more youthful, light, airy, and catchy literature. This helps introduce these young performers to the world of beginning level high school choral performance and high school musical literature allowing them more time to enjoy a music education experience and what the world of music has to offer. Students will learn the basics and foundation of proper breathing and singing techniques. Students in this group will study and broad and general vocal music themes and concepts such as: rhythm, pitch, melody, text, expression, and style. This group performs at fall, holiday, and spring concerts as well as at the annual choir follies variety, pop, concert. This group will travel on a city-wide holiday tour and perform at the state capitol. These students rehearse during the 4th period. The group will also perform at the ArkCDA (Arkansas Choral Directors Association) Regional Choral Performance Assessment (in March) as well as the ArkCDA State Choral Festival (in April) if the group qualifies. All freshman members of this group must audition for the ArkCDA All-Region Choir
