Jaffa Road

Jaffa Road is the main commercial road in west Jerusalem. The street has been ravaged by the imperceptible implementation of the light railway.

This was only the latest of the blows that the shopkeepers have received. Before that they had to contend with the opening of the Malha mall at the south western edge of Jerusalem which took away a lot of customers and then the first and especially the second intifada which cleared the centre of town completely.

Jaffa Road now seems to be returning to life, but only time will tell if it can regain it's former glory.
