The mission of the Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods is to improve the quality of life in Nashville's neighborhoods through a more informed, active and involved citizenry and enhanced governmental response to community needs. The Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods is partnering with the Alumni from Lipscomb's Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership to host neighborhood leadership training and engagement sessions.

Mayor's Field Day, Nashville, TN

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean invites Nashville families of all fitness levels to join him for a day of active play at LP Field, the home of the Tennessee Titans. Participants are engaged in a series of kid-friendly physical challenges on the field where the Titans play, including traditional field day games. Additional activities are setup throughout the stadium, including a fitness fair and the chance to meet and interact with Tennessee Titans players.

Young Nonprofit Professionals is an initiative to help young nonprofit employees of Generations X and Y network and develop a voice for their generations in the nonprofit community and beyond. YNP is a unique opportunity for participants to shape their careers, have a network of support and show commitment to the social sector.

VAN is a network of Nashville’s volunteer managers who meet monthly to share best practices, learn about the most effective strategies for supporting those who serve, and inspire each other to grow professionally and personally.

Nashville Emerging Leaders is an 11-week exclusive leadership program for young professionals in Nashville.  Each year, approximately 25 individuals are chosen through a rigorous selection process. Graduated May 2012.
