2000's

2000 Jaguars Fall to West Mifflin in Semi's: The 2000 Jaguars were loaded with a mammoth offensive line, and were poised to be title contenders, but fell short to rival West Mifflin at Three Rivers Stadium in the semi-finals.  The team included in the hard running of Tom Jura behind Tyler Reed.  The team was ranked #3 pre-season, and #2 by season's end with a victory over West Allegheny in their pockets, and a share of the Keystone Conference championship.

2001 Jaguars Win Conference, and Advance to Semi-Finals: Thomas Jefferson in 2001 won the Keystone Conference and advanced to the semi-finals before losing to Hopewell.  The team was led by seniors Nick Cherish, Bryan Englert, and Nate Starrett.  They would finish the season at 9-3.  As the Jaguars faced another loss in the semifinals to Hopewell, it does not diminish the adversity of injuries this team had to overcome just to be playing in the semifinals.  It just was not their night that night, and the season was a complete success.

2002 Jaguars Undefeated in Regular Season, Semi- Finals For 4th Straight Time

The 2002 season witnessed another formidable Jaguar team led by head coach Bill Cherpak, with a high octane running game, and stingy defense.   They would win the Big Seven Conference, and  make it to the semi-finals of the WPIAL playoffs.  The team was led by record breaking running back Jon Drager.  Jaguar stadium received a new synthetic turf field, new field house with weight room and locker roms, and the Port-a-Johns were replaced with new restrooms.

2003  Undefeated for Second Straight Year, Make it to the WPIAL Finals: The 2003 Jaguars were poised to continue their dominance in the Big Seven Conference, and finally take that next step of winning the WPIAL championship.  The team ripped their way through the regular season winning most of their games in the first half by substantial scores.  Defensively, offensively, special teams; you name it the Jaguars excelled at it, and simply dominated their opponents.  The team would rise to the WPIAL championship only to fall to Pine Richland at Heinz Field.  They were led by record breaking quarterback/ linebacker Pete Winovich, Tom McCafferty, Matt McCall, Ryan Hicks, and Anthony Hritz.

2004 WPIAL and State AAA Champions!!:

The 2004 Jaguars under head coach Bill Cherpak did something that no other team has done in the history of Thomas Jefferson football, win both the WPIAL and PIAA AAA State Championship.  The Jaguars finished the regular season at 7-2 and 5-0 in the Big 7 Conference, winning or sharing the conference title for the 5th straight year.  The team included standout performances by Brad Dawson, Derek Martin, and Evan Browne.

2005 The Jaguars Make the WPIAL Title Game for the Second Straight Year

The 2005 Jaguars looked to capitalize on the previous year's success and hopefully duplicate it.  Though they fell short, the team had a very successful season making it to the finals of the WPIAL before falling to Franklin Regional.  Ranked preseason #1 in the WPIAL and #1 in the state by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the season started with the Jaguars cruising to 5 consecutive shutouts, outscoring their opponents by an astonishing 223-0.

2006 WPIAL Win After Undefeated Season:The 2006 Thomas Jefferson Jaguars reasserted themselves atop the Conference, and the AAA WPIAL/PIAA scene.  They went a perfect 9-0 in the regular season, and won the Big Seven Conference for the 17th time in school history. They continued the winning tradition by beating Blackhawk in the WPIAL finals at Heinz Field, before losing to General McLane in the state semi finals.

2007 State Champs, Perfect!:Thomas Jefferson wins the WPIAL for the second straight year and the 3rd in last four.  They also won the PIAA state championship for the second time in the last four years. The 2007 team is the first team in AAA state history to run the table at 16-0.  Can anyone say Dynasty?  They were led by Zach Decicco, Brian Baldridge, Lucas Nix, Orlando Torres, and Arthur James.  The team overcame much adversity and was a true testament to the tradition of team effort.

2008  The Jaguar Dynasty:The 2008 Jaguars accomplished something that has never been done in the history of AAA football in the state and the WPIAL,  three straight WPIAL championships and two straight PIAA state championships.  The team cemented the school's status as a dynasty with its third PIAA championship, fourth WPIAL championship, and  two WPIAL runner-ups in six years.  The team included quarterback Tyler Wehner, running back Brian Baldridge, offensive linemen Pat Eger and Matt McCall, and linebacker/tightend Brock Decicco.

2009 Jaguars Undefeated, Win Conference:The Jaguars again dominated conference play under head coach Bill Cherpak, and logged a perfect 9-0 season.  The team would lose a tight contest to West Allegheny in the semi-finals of the WPIAL playoffs.  The team was lead offensively by the passing tandem of Sam Johnston and second-generation Jaguar Jim Giansante, as the coaching staff implemented a more pass oriented approach.  The defense was stingy as ever, as this has become a staple of George Wilson defenses.
