Vishwas Patil is a senior research scientist at the department of computer science and engineering, IIT Bombay. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the Sapienza University of Rome. His research interests include security and privacy in information systems, access control, trust management, blockchain, etc. 

Vishwas has worked at TIFR (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai), A-STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Singapore), BNP Paribas Singapore. He has also co-founded a startup on futuristic payment. He provides consultancy to some of the leading industry players and government agencies.
