College Planning

We offer opportunities to support students and their families with the college planning process. Please visit the College Planning pages for more information. 

SAT Testing

Issaquah High School will be offering the SAT to juniors.  If students have questions, they should reach out to their school counselor.

Spring into College & Career Mini-Fair

IHS will be hosting a mini college and Career fair. This event will help our Junior class think about life after graduation. Receive information on career training or Military options. Jump start planning college visits during the summer and connecting with colleges in our area. Also, an excellent time for our younger class students to start thinking about what courses they need to take to get college ready. Or classes that they can already be taking to be career ready right after graduation. 

When: April 21, 2023

Where: Courtyard during Lunchtime (both lunches) 

College Visits

Visits provide a personal touch that may not be available in a school’s literature. Students learn about the school’s admission process, deadlines, campus life, housing, majors available, scholarships and more. This is a valuable opportunity to ask questions and in many cases, personally meet the “first reader” of a college application. School visits are show on our home page calendar. Field Trips

Several field trips are arranged by the Career Center that give students opportunities to explore careers and educational opportunities. Click HERE to be directed to the Field Trip page for more detail information.

Great Careers

The Great Careers Conference is organized by the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. The goal of the conference is educate 10th-12th grade students about careers they can pursue through certificate and two-year degree programs.

The day is filled with speakers in student selected career choices, breakout sessions, soft skills bootcamp, lunch and a college campus visit. Lunch provided. More information is found on our Field Trip page.

Military

Students who are interested in pursuing a military career or attend a military academy have the opportunity to learn from representatives visiting IHS.

Local liaisons from military academies host an informational event for students during the fall.

ASVAB Testing

Be the architect of your career. Learn more about the benefits of participating in the ASVAB Career Exploration Program . Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) - The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world. As an aptitude test, the ASVAB measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB also provides you with career information for various civilian and military occupations and is an indicator for success in future endeavors whether you choose to go to college, vocational school, or a military career.   IHS offers ASVAB testing twice this year.  You have the option of not releasing your results to the military.
