‘It is the way capitalism has been “thought” that has made it so difficult for people to imagine its supersession’ (Gibson-Graham, 1996/2006: 4). 

This is a post-positivist statement. The notion that what people think about 'reality' would have an impact on the existence of this 'reality' reveals that there is a close connection between the subject, who thinks about reality, and the object being thought of. The positivist separation between subject and object is rejected.
