Overview
We use the tools of physics in understanding a wide range of complex phenomena in nature and society. Our work can be categorized under three major themes. We use complex network tools for describing the behavior of social complex systems. We also analyze the statistical distributions of nonlinear dynamical systems like natural hazards using empirical data and results from scaled experiments. Finally, we apply a complex systems perspective in modeling the processes involved in the growth, transport, and cellular interactions in biological systems.
