1982 Miller High Life 150

Network: NBC

Date and time: November 7, 1982, 1:00 PM

Format: Tape-delayed

Length: 1 hour

A one-hour edited version of the race was shown the day after running as an "NBC Sports Special", alongside a 10-round welterweight boxing match between Steve Hearon and Sanford Ricks, the World Invitational Gymnastics Championships, a middleweight boxing match between "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler and Fukjencio Obelmejias, and features on 1980 Olympic athlete Jim Craig, the 24-hours of LeMans, and a 24-hour Slot Car race. The race was billed as the "Phoenix 150".

During his post-race interview, Tom Sneva switched from a Texaco hat (his sponsor) to a Miller High Life hat (the race sponsor). This was criticized by the Los Angeles Times, who said it looked like a "bad clown act in a circus, and to say the least was distracting to anyone who wanted to hear the interview".
