Rules for Entry into the Pentathlon
1) All entries must follow the General Rules for Entry.
2) You are automatically entered into the Pentathlon if you enter at least five (5) different Categories and/or Subcategories.
3) Each item may only be entered into one Category and/or Subcategory.
4) Your top five (5) scoring entries will determine your overall Pentathlon score. The entrant with the highest overall highest score wins!
Example 1: If you enter a scroll ("Manuscript Arts - Calligraphy and/or Illumination"), bobbin lace ("Lace"), woven trim ("Textile Arts - Woven"), performed poem ("Performing Arts - Spoken Performance"), & a book ("Manuscript Arts - Bookbinding"), then you are automatically entered into the Pentathlon. If you also entered a beer ("Spirits & Brewing - Beers, Ales, & Lagers"), then your top five (5) scoring items will be used to establish your Pentathlon score.
Example 2: If you entered fingerloop braiding, kumihimo, home-spun yarn, and some home-dyed fabric, you would not be eligible for entry into the Pentathlon. All of these items would fall under the same sub-category, "Textile Arts - Non-Woven".
