Cognitive Science Seminar - Fall 2015

Post date: Sep 24, 2015 3:12:38 PM

This seminar will broadly cover themes on how and why perception, action, and cognition change. Dynamics is a popular term emphasizing activity, change, and time varying phenomena. This happens at many different spatial scales (cortical activity, body movements, social interactions, cultural pressures) as well as at various timescales (milliseconds, seconds, hours, years). Further, cognition also includes time displacements (memory, anticipation), as well as interactions between information at these different scales (e.g. language influencing motor dynamics). Talks will be from a wide variety of disciplines and research areas, exploring dynamics and scales from different perspectives.
