ABOUT MY SCHOOL

Hi,

My name is Elisa and I attend a Harmony Public School in El Paso Texas. Harmony Science Academy is a charter school that focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) principles. From grades K-12 the level of academic achievement has maintained a successful rate. Our small class population allows for greater attention to each individual student. Every year there is a 100% college acceptance from our young brilliant minds that attend HSA. At Harmony students are required to participate in the PBL (project Base Learning) and PLTW (Project Lead The Way) projects, so that each student is given the wonderful opportunity to increase their knowledge in ways to not only help them understand certain topics, but also to develop their thinking abilities. Projects such as these improve their problem solving skills, self-confidence, responsibility, and allows them to become more aware of the outside world. Extra-curricular activities at Harmony offer students with challenges to increase their thinking skills, such as robotics. Robotics gives students the opportunity to be part of FLL (First Lego) challenges, and FTC (First Tech Challenge) where they may work with modern tools and technology. CRLP(College Readiness Leadership Program) is another after school activity that provides students the opportunity to study in groups to pre-pare for SAT test and practice all core subject learning. The Harmony environment is friendly and academic, one that allows student characters to be positive and ready to face the outside world.
