This list has been created with the assistance of the University of Hull/Victoria County History Howden Project. In some cases the year of appointment is not known, or uncertain. Where this happens, I have inserted an intermediate year. I'll highlight these when I write the mini-biographies.

Born 1404/5. Great grandson of Edward III, grandson of John of Gaunt, son of Ralph Neville 1st Earl of Westmorland and Lady Joan Beaufort. His generation of the Nevilles was among the best connected families of the 15C. He was the nephew of Cardinal Beaufort, uncle of Warwick the Kingmaker, uncle of Edward IV. A short biography is here.

Even by the standards of his time, his ecclesiastical career was notable for both pluralism and simony.
