Ms. Stacey Lawson recently retired from Cumberland County schools in Fayetteville, NC to begin a new adventure here in Hopewell. She graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC with both a BS in Elementary Education and a M.Ed in School Counseling. I am the proud mom of two grown children and the brand new grandmother of a baby boy born in August. When not spoiling her new grandbaby she can be found outside hiking, paddle boarding and just plain enjoying the sunshine and fresh air.
Ms. Darsie is new to Hopewell HS this year. An NJ native, she's lived in VA, NH and most recently Kansas City, MO where she was a middle school counselor. She received her BA in Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond and M.Ed in Counselor Education at the University of Virginia. She is thrilled to be back "home" and excited to start a new adventure as a high school counselor in Hopewell. In her spare time, Ms. Darsie loves to watch, play and coach sports, hike, read (mostly Harry Potter), drink tons of coffee, listen to True Crime podcasts and binge anything on Netflix.
Mr. Vesprey is the new lead counselor at Hopewell HS. He is a native from Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Vesprey attended Virginia State University for his BA in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Health Science and M.Ed in school counseling. In his spare time, loves to read, workout, watch sports, and spend time with his family.
Ms. Hewlett is beginning her second year as Mental Health Counselor at Hopewell High School. She is from Chesterfield, VA and graduated from Lloyd. C.Bird High School. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University before attending Virginia State University, where she earned a M.S. in Counselor Education and M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Supervision in 2015 and 2019 respectively. Ms. Hewlett is the proud mother to a baby girl and enjoys live music, crime podcasts, documentaries, meditation, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Holden is the School Counseling Secretary/Registrar. She has been in VA all of her life. She has been at Hopewell High for 13 years. She loves going to the mountains and spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren.
