Registering for School

If you are new to Hopewell City Public Schools and wish to register your child at Hopewell High School, you will need to call our Registrar, Mrs. Cheryl Holden, at 804-541-6402 to schedule an appointment. The parent or legal guardian (with custody papers) must enroll the student. Students who are 18 years of age may register themselves.

You will need the following information in order to expedite the registration process. If any information is missing, you will not be able to complete the registration process.

1. Certified state-issued birth certificate

2. Social Security number

3. Court issued custody paper (if applicable)

4. Immunization record including

   • 4-D Tap

   • 4-Polio

   • 2-MMR

   • 3-Hep

   • 1-Varicella (Chicken Pox) if born after 1997

5. School records from the former school. This MUST include discipline records. Your child will not be able to start school without discipline information.

6. Proof of residency

   • Signed lease or rental agreement with current address and parent/guardian name

   • Signed deed with current address and parent/guardian name

   • Real estate tax receipt with current address and parent/guardian name
