How Do I Register for the SAT or ACT?
To register for both the SAT and the ACT, you will need to go to their websites as listed below. You will also need to upload a picture of yourself for identification purposes. You must be sure that the picture is only of you (no group photos) and that it clearly shows your face. No hats or other head coverings unless required by your religion. Be sure that you look like your picture on the day of the test. Do not change your hair color or your appearance significantly. If you have any difficulty with uploading a picture to your profile, see your School Counselor as soon as possible.

Make sure that you keep a record of the email address that you used to register (along with the password), the username that you created at registration, and the password.
What If I Can't Afford to Pay for the Test?
Fee waivers are available for students who meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:
Enrolled in or eligible for the National School Lunch Program (free or reduced lunch);
Enrolled in a program for the economically disadvantaged such as Upward Bound, Gear UP, or a TRIO program;
The student's annual family income falls within the Income Eligibility Guidelines set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (2014-2015 year and 2015-2016 year);
The student's family receives public assistance;
The student lives in federally subsidized public housing or a foster home, or is homeless; and/or
The student is a ward of the state or an orphan.
You may receive no more than two (2) fee waivers for each test while in high school. If you use a fee waiver to register for a test, then the fee waiver is considered as used and will count towards the two that you may be issued.
To obtain a fee waiver, contact your School Counselor before the deadline for registration.
Which Test Should I Take?
Both tests are accepted by colleges and universities nationwide. You may opt to take both tests as well.
For more information on a comparison of the two tests, check out the following websites. Remember that these comparisons are based upon the old SAT which will no longer be used after March 2016.
