BECOMING A STUDENT
Speak with a club instructor (make sure there's room)
Join the SSA as a full member (required by club insurance)
Apply for a Student Pilot Certificate (required before flying solo, and may take 4 weeks to receive)
This Requires a meeting with an instructor to verify ID and complete the application online.
Join the Club (Not the same as SSA above)
Contact a club officer or attend a club meeting.

STUDENT RESOURCES
Below are the resources recommended for the glider student to purchase.
FAR/AIM (current year book or electronic version)
Glider Flying Handbook (free download available)
Practice Knowledge Tests (includes CFI endorsement)
Students MUST have a 1) logbook and 2) current copy of the FAR/AIM. The other resources may be substituted with alternate products (including online resources), with the exception of Stick and Rudder, for which there is no substitute.
