Dr. Hsin-Jen Chen is an epidemiologist of public health nutrition. His research interests are related to human eating behaviors, dietary patterns, timing of eating, and the health implications of these eating behaviors. Since the social and man-made environments determine people's eating patterns, the environmental influences on eating, dietary quality, and health are of his research interest, too. Sometimes, as he may be discontent of the powerlessness associated with pure observation in epidemiological methods, he studies the effectiveness of innovative interventions that were designed to improve people's eating and health conditions.
