ACP70(4) Research Working Group
Goal
The goal of the Highway Traffic Monitoring Research Subcommittee (ACP70-4) is to promote and advance the research agenda of the main committee (ACP70) and the three topical Subcommittees (WIM Subcommittee; Pedestrian and Bicycle Data Subcommittee; Travel Time, Speed, and Reliability Subcommittee). In coordination with the main committee and the three topical subcommittees, the main steps that ACP70(4) follows to address this goal are:
Identify and prioritize research needs and ideas
Develop draft research needs statements (RNSs)
Assign reviewers to each RNS
Finalize RNSs
Upload RNSs to the RNS database (http://rns.trb.org) and the main website of ACP70 (https://sites.google.com/site/highwaytrafficmonitoring/subcommittees-and-groups/working-groups/acp704-research-working-group/research-needs-statements)
Identify possible Champion(s) for each RNS
Identify potential funding sources and important deadlines
Determine other ways (e.g., workshops, calls for papers, special sessions) to pursue and promote the prioritized research topics
Report back to ACP70 on progress for tracking purposes
Update “Active Research Page” (https://sites.google.com/site/highwaytrafficmonitoring/subcommittees-and-groups/working-groups/acp704-research-working-group/completed-and-ongoing-research-projects/active-research-page) of the main website of ACP70.
