2015 Call for Papers - Leveraging Traffic Signal Systems Data

The committee has issued a call for papers with the following problem statement.

Data is often collected to address internal needs and applications and is not necessarily geared toward communicating with stakeholders and decision-makers. Data doesn't make decisions, people do. How can we use local traffic signal infrastructure to support traffic data needs? How could detector placement be optimized to support multiple applications? How can the needs associated with system operations be combined with those in the planning? Where and how can agencies best capture and report the traffic data so that it can be shared and used to provide more complete and useful data? Are some detector technologies more conducive to data sharing than others? What are the best ways to ensure that data accuracy meets the needs of everyone?

The full call is attached for review and download. If you would like to submit a paper in response you must do so by August 1, 2015. Guidance for paper submission may be found at https://annualmeeting.mytrb.org/Paper/Instructions
