Forest Avenue Synagogue

B'nai Jacob established the Forest Avenue Synagogue in 1931 and took the name of its beloved rabbi Joseph Meyer Levin who had died in 1929. It became Agudas Israel Beth Hakneseth Joseph Meyer. It was also known as The Rumanian Shul.

Located at 521 Forest Avenue, across from Fleischmann Gardens. Rabbis were Bezazel Epstein, Bernard D. Perlow (installed July 1, 1945), David Indich (assumed the pulpit April 1, 1952). The synagogue moved to Stover Avenue in Golf Manor in 1957.

The name was shortened and is now known as Agudas Israel (Golf Manor Synagogue)
