3.5 Evaluation

We are almost done with our design.

The final step is the evaluation.

Part 1 The problem

We are going to design a pendulumconstruction that can be used to see if the length of the pendulum or the mass of the pendulum has influence on how fast the pendulum is swinging.

Part 2: The list of design criteria

1. the length of the pendulum can be set to three different lengths between 50 and 85 centimeters.
2. The pendulum must be able to hold three different weights.
3. You must be able to measure the position of the pendulum when it is swinging.
4. The pendulum is made from wood.
5. The use of materials should be minimal. The height of the pendulum is maximum 30 cm

Part 3: Testing the solution

We are going to test our pendulum with the following method

• We are going to hang three weights on our pendulum, swing it and see if the pendulum is stable.
• We are going to do experiments with the pendulum to investigate if the mass or the length of the pendulum influences how fast it is swinging.
