Navigation Pane / Outline

If you have included Heading levels, you can see an outline of your document using the Navigation Pane feature. Click View -> check Navigation Pane You will see an outline based on the heading levels.

Table of Contents

If you have used Heading levels properly, Word will automatically make a Table of Contents for you. Place the cursor where you want the TOC to go, click References -> Table of Contents, and choose a built-in TOC style or create a new one.
