Office Suite Accessibility
I am using the term "Office Suite" in a very generic way. Microsoft Office (and Adobe for PDF documents) are no doubt the leaders in productivity software, but there are other tools. Two office suites - OpenOffice and Libre Office - are free. They have been around for a long time and are well tested.
I will try to include some general information that might apply to other tools, but the key is to look for useful features that may already be built into whatever tools that you use.
See PDFs and other Adobe information on the Documents page of this web site.

OpenOffice and Libre Office - Free Office Suites
Both of these suites include a word processor (Writer), spreadsheet (Calc), presentation application (Impress), math formula editor (Math), and database management application (Base) - and even a drawing tool (Draw) that MS Office does not have. Both tools have proved to be exceptional alternatives to Microsoft Office. I have used both of them on my home computers for years.
OpenOffice.org was the original free office suite and has been around from many years; LibreOffice was developed by some of the same people who created OpenOffice.
