About

This site is a resource for searchers and trainers in NHS library services. Currently undergoing reconstruction (24/2/23), it was originally developed by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex NHS Library and Knowledge Services Searching and Training Forum (KSS STF).

In 2023, following increasing collaboration our groups, a shared workspace on the FutureNHS platform was created for the KSS STF, the London Searching and Training Forum (LSTF), and the SWIMS Searchers and Trainers Forum (SWIMS STF). To join the shared workspace go to www.future.nhs.uk, create an account, and search for the workspace by its title, "KLS Search and Training Forums"

Knowledge and Library services in these regions and throughout the country share the common goals of supporting clinical practice, education and training, and research by NHS staff in acute, community and primary care, as well as service development and commissioning. This website aims to provide another complementary space for our groups to share ideas and spread best practice to achieve these goals.

Our forums are open to anyone in our regions (and further afield) with an interest in searching and training. We have close links with each other, with representatives from each region attending the others' meetings and events.

Staff new to searching and training who would like to shadow a member of these forums are welcome to get in touch:

Thank you to KSS STF's former chairs Tom Roper and Igor Brbre, who created the original Kent, Surrey and Sussex NHS Libraries Searching and Training website.
